Barely 22 years old and armed with a Casio keyboard, young and wildly off-beat musical comic Chris Condren is steadily making a name for himself on the Chicago scene. Chris has been a fixture at open-mic nights in the last year, and recently parlayed those appearances into a string of showcase bookings at venues including the Lincoln Lodge and the recently defunct Lakeshore Theatre. You know what isn’t defunct? The buzz about his act amongst comics, which was immediate and now ongoing. It should also be noted that Chris is afraid of aliens.

Over the years, comedian and actor TJ Miller’s been on stage and screen, most notably in Mike Judge’s Extract, JJ Abrams Cloverfield and the recent hit, How to Train Your Dragon. But he got his start in a humble way. Vocalo.org’s Brian Babylon knew him way-back-when and caught up with him recently during Miller’s stint at the Just for Laughs Festival. He started out by recalling how he got his first break
